Wendigo: Bound by Blood (2010)

Image
After knocking out some work for Steelers101 , I decided to venture into the realm of low budget horror. I especially love when I can find a movie that is centered somewhere in Pennsylvania , especially when the storyline contains some legends or folklore. My selection for the evening in the 2010 Midnight Releasing entry Wendigo: Bound by Blood. Plot/ For hundreds of years, Native American culture has believed in the evil cannibalistic spirit known as the wendigo. For those who had taken part in cannibalism, no matter the reason, it was aid the wendigo would take possession of the person's body and soul. Once the wendigo would take possession of the human host, the host would develop and insatiable desire to eat human flesh. This is one of the flicks that I ordered from Brain Damage Films / Midnight Releasing, and I am glad that I picked it. Yes, there are some low budget moments in the audio quality and some of the acting, but honestly, those are minimal t

Phantom of the Opera (1998)

Image
It was another day at the institute, and I will say that I will be glad when this week of FCC testing preps are over. This area may be my least favorite section that I teach. Fortunately, only two days left. To relax, I decided upon something mindless, 1998 Dario Argento entry, Phantom of the Opera. Plot/ Gory remake of the Gaston Leroux classic story, only this time, and the phantom is not disfigured, but a man who was raised by rats deep under the Paris Opera House. Argento can be such a polarizing figure, as some love his work and some hate it. For me, I have always been a fan. While this flick is far from my favorite, and not even close to his best, it is an interesting take on Gaston Leroux's classic tale. Sure, it is not his best work, but it has many of his signature elements that make it entertaining to watch on a rainy night. There are decent performances, strange characters, a decent storyline, awesome gore and a lot of nudity. Really, it has everyth

V/H/S (2012)

Image
After venturing into a few different directions the past couple days with some poetry followed by a breakdown of the controversial NDAA law. It was time to settle into some horror. Luckily, I had one video left from my trip to Family Video, so, I decided on that, V/H/S from 2012. Plot/ When a group of misfits is hired by an unknown third party to burglarize a desolate house and acquire a rare VHS tape, they discover more found footage than they bargained for. Anthology flicks are interesting, and when you throw in the combination of found footage and homage to 1980s gore, nudity and slasher format, it creates an interesting flick. Of course, some will be turned off by the violence and explicit nudity, but that is what made the classic gorefests of the 1980s awesome. Do not get me wrong, there are some flaws as the characterization is all over the place, the acting so-so and a couple of the segments did drag. However, this one, consisting of five segments plus a

NDAA - You Are The Resistance - Operation Paul Revere

Image
For many, the recent governmental events of deceit and an apparent power grab into the liberties that have made our country great have started to grate at them. Our founding fathers created one of the greatest pieces of legislation known to man, founding principles that defined who we are as a society as the greatest nation on the planet. Our Constitution, complete with our inherent rights as citizens, applied the groundwork necessary to flourish against all who tread in our path. Today, our Constitution is under attack from many directions. Globalist banks set on creating a New World Order and Global Government are attempting to hijack our great nation. You do not have to believe me, the evidence is everywhere. Government agencies devaluing the dollar using illegal derivatives in conjunction with megabanks, vaccines being forced upon our children containing formaldehyde, mercury and other toxins , and unconstitutional laws such as NDAA allow indefinite detention without tr

All Hope Lost (Poetry)

While I have started working on a script for a short film I am planning for the Operation Paul Revere contest,   I cannot help be see the similarities of the sheep that surround us and the zombies that are taking over pop culture. Ironically, I believe that curing both (sheep or zombies), will help our society crawl out of the depths of tyranny. Until then, here is a piece from my zombie project, one that talks about the results of an experimental vaccine.  11:00 Another body falls This strange infection continues to grow Surrounding our every move Look, in the corner Such a ghastly sight Those red eyes filled with sorrow That festering decay of the green death His body ravaged How can he exist? Who would want to live that way? Stealthily, I maintain my distance I will not fall prey to this vile demon The rot will not overtake me Turning the corner I see even more victims Carousing throughout the corridor The infestation searching for hosts

Another Kind (2011)

Image
Back-to-back documentaries are good for your soul! Truly, they are, as too much of society fails to follow their birthright to ask questions and demand answers. We face a lot of challenges today to items we once viewed as untouchable, with actions and arguments that are unfathomable. We must speak up to these injustices. To take a break from documentaries, I decided on Another Kind from 2011. Plot/ A group of unprepared weekend hikers go missing while snowshoeing in the Catskill Mountains . I had never heard of this one when I saw it Family Video and said what the heck. What I found was an interesting low budget indie flick, which valued atmosphere over action. Sure, that works to some effect, but it was not without flaws. The storyline is appealing, yet the scripting leaves giant holes in it. Yes, that can work and add some questions, but there was some unevenness within these that hinted too much to be effective. The acting was solid, and some of the twists add

9/11: The Great Illusion (2004)

Image
I decided to stay in the documentary zone tonight as I had a lot of work to complete. To me, nothing keeps me focused more than a solid documentary, especially when it is an interesting topic. My selection for the evening was 9/11: The Great Illusion. Plot/ This important film will help open your friends' and family's eyes to the great illusion that the mainstream media has created around the September 11th attacks. Let me start by stating that this has a lot of solid information on this tragedy, and is rather thorough in its approach. That being said, this one came across a bit stale as a movie but a perfect narration for me to drive to. Having two hours of window time every day, this was perfect for my drive, as the video was mostly stills backing up the solid narration. Released in 2004, this documentary compiled a tremendous amount of data, creating a solid trail to be followed to the globalist scum that were responsible. Of course, there were some st

Martial Law 9-11: Rise of the Police State (2005)

Image
After a few horror flicks this week, I decided to head back into documentary mode. This is something I found fitting with the unconstitutional display that our congress is parading with their assault on the Second Amendment. To get my mind off that sign of tyranny, I decided to look at one of the events that started us on this path of despair, Martial Law 9/11: Rise of the Police State from 2005. Plot/ Out of the ashes of the September 11th tragedy, a dark empire of war and tyranny has risen. The Constitution has been shredded and America is now a Police State. This film exposes not just who was behind the 9-11 attacks, but the roots and history of its orchestrators.  It is amazing, when you step back and look at certain documentaries after some time, a prophetic theme at times shines through. This is specifically the case with this one. Yes, at the heart is the Republican Convention in 2004, the protests, and the pathetic ways that those traitors to the Constitu

The Day (2011)

Image
After suffering through Grizzly Flats, I had hoped that my next selection would be much better. I had honestly wanted something different from anything that I have selected recently. With the pulse of society being uneven recently, I decided that I wanted to watch something more apocalyptic. In the end, I decided upon the 2011 independent flick The Day. Plot/ A group of five people working to stay alive in a post-apocalyptic future discover what they think is a safe, abandoned farmhouse, but they soon find themselves fighting to stay alive as a gang of bloodthirsty predators attack. When I grabbed this, I expected something very different. However, what I found was much better than that. This was a dark, entertaining and somewhat dismal journey into post-apocalyptic depravity. More of a thriller or character driven drama than anything else, this has a tremendous atmosphere, outstanding performances and an intensity that permeates dread throughout the fabric of th

Grizzly Flats (2011)

Image
After a couple of flicks about possessions, I decided on something with another popular topic, shadow people. While there have been some interesting stories recently come out in research, this flick did not compare. The movie I decided on was Grizzly Flats (AKA Shadow People) from 2011. Plot/ Sylvain, an engineer come vigilante inventor, has constructed a device. It is close to functional, but something isn't right. His wife, Mary Anne, is running out of patience. She loathes the woods in which they live and yearns for a return to the city. Problems arise when their already tense situation is exasperated by the appearance of shadow beings, which torment them during the night.  When I picked this one up, I had very little expectations. I had seen a trailer, but never heard anything else. I am glad that I did not expect much, as this was even worse than I could have imagined. It honestly took everything in my power to sit through it. Everything seemed to have

The Possession (2012)

Image
One of the flicks that I picked up at Family Video on Friday is one of the films from 2012 that received a lot of hype. Of course, usually when movies receive a lot of coverage, they fall flat. Honestly, it is somewhat unfair; as there is really no way they can match the amount of hype they receive. That flick was The Possession from 2012. Plot/ A young girl buys an antique box at a yard sale, unaware that inside the collectible lives a malicious ancient spirit. The girl's father teams with his ex-wife to find a way to end the curse upon their child. When I saw the previews for this one, I was on the fence. Movies with this much hype usually never delivers on their promise, and while I may be in the minority on this one, this one falls into that category. Supposedly based upon a true story, there is a lot to like. The acting is solid, the storyline interesting, the cinematography good, and the last half of the flick is extremely entertaining. However, it is

Help Stop Chemtrails / HAARP - White House Petition

Image
Everyone knows how much I have researched HAARP. HAARP is dangerous, it is a system that potentially could not only control weather, there is a possibility the the ELF Frequency can control minds. This system must be stopped. Today, while on twitter I was given a link to a White House petition pushing to stop Chemtrails, HAARP and Weather Modification Programs. To me, this petition is a start, but it needs tremendous support, as the White House recently upped the number of required signatures before they will even look at it. Will this go anywhere, probably not, but it will tell the White House - We The People are watching them!  The Immediate Stop of Chemtrails and H.A.A.R.P, Weather Modification Programs! The Use of Chemtrails and HAARP (High Altitude Aurora Research Program) Has Severely Changed our Climate causing massive hurricanes, earthquakes, tsunamis etc. The Program was made to help benefit man kind and also salvage farmland during major droughts. Since the technol

Seance: The Summoning (2011)

Image
I decided to get back into some horror today after taking somewhat of a break throughout the past week. Yes, there has been some, but it has been nowhere near my usual viewing structure. It is good though, sometimes you need to step back. To get back into the swing, I decided on Séance: The Summoning from 2011. Plot/ Four friends decide to record themselves having a séance. When they summon a demon by mistake, they will have to find a way to drive the demon out before it destroys them all. For many weeks, I passed this one up when I went to the local Family Video Store, and now I know why. While the premise seemed interesting, clichéd but interesting, I never expected it to be so incoherent. The scripting is all over the place with poor dialogue and the pacing is off, the acting is flat and unbelievable, and a lot of it does not add up. Honestly, it is really a challenge to watch and fully grasp. There is some atmosphere and some of it, especially at the beginning

Invisible Empire: A New World Order Defined (2010)

Image
After a night off as I prepared for a long day in class, I decided to jump deep into a downward spiral to attempt to discover some more information on the famed New World Order and their agenda. While I know this darkness exists, as everyone should with items such as the NDAA, FISA, and location such as Bohemian Grove. My selection for the evening was Invisible Empire: A New World Order Defined Plot/ For the first time ever, the secret agenda of the planet’s ruthless Super-class is exposed in stark detail. This documentary film chronicles how men of power and influence have worked in stealth for centuries to establish an oppressive world government. After fighting with the dryer, I decided to jump into this documentary and I am glad that I did. The New World Order is such a polarizing topic among many citizens, yet, it appears to be in plain sight, something this movie portrays in a manner which is easily understood. It presents the evidence in a clear manner, sp

12 Monkeys (1995)

Image
After relaxing last night with Bones and Castle, I was debating what I should watch tonight to get back into the swing of things. Part of me wanted a documentary, but the other part wanted something different. After some debate with the voices in my head, I decided on the 1995 Sci-Fi / Thriller 12 Monkeys. Plot/ In a future world devastated by disease, a convict is sent back in time to gather information about the man-made virus that wiped out most of the human population on the planet. It had been some time since I last watched this flick, and now that I have watched it again, I like it even more. This film is full of atmosphere and dread, with surrealistic visions of despair. The cinematography is amazing, as the visuals do a great job at complimenting the layered storyline and solid performances. More importantly, the movie is able to accomplish the rare feat of staying current after over a decade. Yes, some of it may be a bit incoherent and balance on a fine l
