After an evening last night of recovering from the entirety
of the fair process (and a House marathon), I decided to jump back into some
movies with something a bit different. My selection for the evening was Bitter
Feast from 2010.
Plot/ A celebrity chef exacts revenge on a food blogger who
torpedoes his career.
This certainly was not The Chew, Mario Batali as a cast
member, but this was a lot better than I honestly expected. For a lower budget
indie flick, there was a lot to like inside this flick. First off, it was not cliché
and actually featured some originality in the storyline. More of a
psychological thriller than horror, it features decent acting, some sound
dialogue, and some very good production values. Yes, there are some holes in
development, some weird camera work and there is little to no blood and guts,
but it is an interesting and entertaining movie. It is definitely an indie
flick worth watching.
