Doomsday Prophecy (2011)

With this being 2012, we cannot move forward without the discussion of the end of times scenarios that we are creeping towards on December 21. I actually enjoy talking with my daughters about the Mayan Calendar, Prophesies, and really all of the items in the world that sit outside the mainstream. Truth is stranger than fiction and if the possibilities of alternate truths are not discussed, we are doomed. The movie we chase to watch is Doomsday Prophecy from 2011.
Plot/ Based on the 2012 end-of-world prophecy where two unlikely characters team up to solve a mystery that just might save the world..
I am not the biggest fan of movies on the SyFy Channel, as many are just so unbelievably bad that they are a waste of time. However, there are times where I enjoy watching some of them with my daughter, who loves some of the content. This was one of those cases, where the flaws were easily overlooked and it was actually rather enjoyable in a cheesefest sort of way. This one had decent cinematography, some originality, good scenery, and several of the characters are believable. Sure, there is the trademark schlocky CGI, poor dialogue, and a storyline that is all over the place, but that did not truly dampen the movie. In the end, this one is far from perfect, yet, it is a decent flick to spend a couple of hours with your kids watching.
